PRODUCING
I’ve had the opportunity to help produce a variety of media projects across different organizations and platforms. This page highlights work I’ve produced for the Center for Media Information Literacy and our show Media Inside Out, Temple Smash, and the Temple University Diamond Marching Band. These experiences have allowed me to develop skills in project planning, storytelling, and coordinating creative teams to bring ideas to life.
PROJECTS
MEDIA INSIDE OUT
Episode 76 - The Slipper Slope of Banned Books
Episode 77 - Creating Media for Neurodivergent Kids
In this episode, “The Slippery Slope of Banned Books,” I developed the idea and focused on the rise of book bans and what they reveal about who gets to decide which stories are accessible. I handled the process from start to finish by researching the topic, shaping the direction, and finding guests like Laura B. McGrath and Alex Romer-Cohen for our host Sherri Hope Culver who is the director of the Center for Media and Information Literacy. It was one of the first episodes I produced in such a hands-on way, which made it a really important milestone for me. The experience strengthened my skills in research, storytelling, and contributor sourcing while deepening my understanding of how media shapes public conversations.
This episode explores how children’s media can better reflect neurodivergent experiences and why representation matters in shaping how kids understand themselves and the world. I helped guide the direction of the conversation and supported the flow of the episode, making sure key ideas around inclusive storytelling were clearly highlighted. We spoke with Zachariah O'Hora and Maja Watkins, who shared how they create stories and characters that authentically center neurodiverse perspectives. As someone interested in creating more inclusive content, it was inspiring to hear how their work prioritizes representation and helps more kids feel seen on screen. This experience strengthened my ability to shape meaningful, inclusive conversations.
TEMPLE SMASH
Nuts - Temple SMASH
Temple SMASH Episode 1703
For the Temple Smash sketch Nuts, I helped produce the piece by coordinating pre-production meetings, recruiting talent, and organizing locations, props, crew, and the overall production team. I also managed scheduling and made sure everything stayed on track from start to finish. This was one of eight Temple Smash sketches I’ve produced during my time at Temple, and it’s one of my favorites. The set was especially fun to work on, and it stands out to me as one of my most recent and rewarding production experiences.
As a Co–Digital Executive Producer for Temple Smash, I helped oversee 5–6 digital sketches each episode by coordinating crews and keeping communication strong between teams. I work closely with each sketch’s crew to keep everything aligned from pre-production through post-production. In weekly producer meetings, I tracked progress, troubleshot challenges, and overall helped keep content on schedule so that I could keep each episode running smoothly by supporting each sketch.
TEMPLE UNIVERSITY
DIAMOND MARCHING BAND
Hooter Halloween: A Temple Thriller
I served as a producer for a Halloween-themed parody of "Thriller" by Michael Jackson that was created as a fun promotional and fundraising piece to build excitement around the band’s appearance in the Macy’s Day Parade. I helped coordinate production efforts to bring the concept to life by coordinating the band with production crews.
Tenor's Anatomy / TUDMB Skit
I wrote and produced a sketch for the 2024 TUDMB indoor concert, where 4–5 section skits are selected, filmed, and shown during the event. My section in the band created a medical parody about a tenor saxophone injured by a skyjack, with ER doctors racing to save its life before it’s too late. I helped develop the concept and oversee production to bring the sketch to life for the concert.
Barbie / Temple University Diamond Marching Band
I co-wrote a Barbie-inspired parody script for the 2024 Halloween halftime show, creating filmed sketches that interspersed with the performance. I also helped direct band members with limited media experience to recreate the look and feel of the original film as closely as possible.
